BIO

Shane Archer Reed is a versatile singer/songwriter/musician/actor from Oneida NY. He has been performing (both solo and with groups) and writing music for as long as he can remember. Most recently, Shane will release his 2nd full length album, "Something To Say" in July of 2019. in 2016, he also released his first solo record entitled "I Defy You, Stars", as well as an EP entitled "Precursor" in 2018. His band, Shane Archer Reed and the Harbingers has opened for nationally recognized acts such as The Stolen, The Veer Union, Mike Schiavo from The Voice season 9, and Pop Evil as a guest with the band Pacinello. Shane has also finidhed his first national tour opening for Rookie Of The Year. 

Vocally, Shane has been classically trained since age 14 under the tutelage of various teachers such as Maria Russo, Perry Price, Gerald Gray and Nicholas Abounder. Shane has discovered how to use his classical technique and theatrical background in his own music, attempting to create a genre all his own.

Shane finds influences in a multitude of music. Shane takes influence that range from classical and musical theatre singers such as Alfie Boe, Ramin Karimloo, Jeremy Jordan, and Will Chase, to Pop and Rock artists like Myles Kennedy, Brendon Urie, Paul McCartney and Freddie Mercury. Shane Archer Reed is trying to achieve an eclectic, yet universal sound, so anyone can take something positive away from his music.

 Shane released his first album, "I Defy You, Stars" in March of 2016. these were the first songs Shane felt proud of and encompassed the 23 years of his life  thus far that it took to write them. As Shane grew as a musician and songwriter, he found his niche in combining the emotional feelings he connected with in rock and alternative pop music, with the unique storytelling aspect that comes from musical theater. His first venture into that was the 2018 EP, "Precursor", and the following single, "Waiting For Me", a loving tribute to his late father of 21 years. He hopes to continue and evolve through this storytelling process with future albums. Shane will release his 2nd album, "Something To Say" in July of 2019.

I've been itching to release new music for a while now, and in my quest to do so, I found some old songs that did not originally make the cut for the 1st album. These songs still resonated with me, so I reworked and recorded them myself, with some mixing done by my friend James Adrian (a.k.a. Standpoint). I present to you my next EP, Precursor, available online now!




WAITING FOR ME

I've been trying to write this song for a long time now. A song to honor my late father and all he had done for me in the short time I had with him. 2 years ago I finished writing that song and with the help of some dear friends, that song has come to life!! 

I'm excited to announce the release of my next single, "Waiting For Me" which features my dear friend and wonderful vocalist, Ally Priore. She understood the meaning of this song more than most, and was able to add just what was needed to bring full life to this piece! The mixing and mastering was done by musician extraordinaire and dear friend, Mason McDowell, even adding a bit of his own musicianship to the piece. I can't thank them both enough for their help in this endeavor!!!!
